Bringing stories to life.

South London Storytelling has been bringing engaging stories to adults and children in the community for xx years.  Stories are a window into universal shared experiences.

We bring international storytellers to our audiences, in a magical natural setting in Tooting Common.

We also host our Festival of the Dead each autumn in Oct/Nov.

Who we are

Alison Royce

Founder, Artistic Director

Alison Royce is a seasoned storyteller and prior to 2022 devised and produced 3 major events on Tooting Common: The Jigsaw Horse, Sir Gawain and the Lady of the Lake and The Pied Piper. These events involved hundreds of children and adults making props and pieces for multi-art-form parade with coordinated music, storytelling, fire eaters, stilt walkers, and choirs.  Royce has also worked on story-based projects at Sprout, as part of Furzedown Festival and Wandsworth Arts Fringe.  In 2022 Royce and Billings devised and produced the  first Festival of the Dead. The inaugural event engaged around 900 people in a fortnight of creative workshops, talks, film and ending with a joyous parade.
